For elementary teachers who want to make a difference.

NASA-funded Master's degree focused on STEM for elementary teachers

Having a Master's in education can help you earn more in the field you love, teaching.

But teaching isn't just about making money. There are larger factors in play.

In fact, the United States is depending on you to teach science and math (STEM) to the younger generation to cultivate future skilled workers that will sustain the economy.

NASA has long understood this need, and because of it, chose to fund this program. Their support allows us to develop highly specialized teachers like you who understand the massive need for STEM Education and will gladly step up to the challenge.

With an M.S. in STEM Education, you can help your students, gain a career advantage and increase  your earning potential (especially at private schools). Our program will ensure that you can make STEM teaching fun and finally replace those classroom groans of "Math is hard" and "Science is boring."

The technology, math and science fields are on the rise and the learning landscape is bound to change drastically over the next 5, 10, 15 years. Will you be prepared to shift gears?

Get a FREE Math & Science activity guide when you fill out the form below (filled with activities you can try in your own classroom). You'll see how applicable these skills are, and how much fun teaching science and math can be.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This program explores techniques, technology, and hands-on strategies for elementary teachers that illuminate the standards put forth by the Common Core and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), including:

  • Basic concepts of physical science, including force, motion, and Newtonian mechanics
  • Concepts of integers, variables, functions, & equations
  • Number theory and computational strategies
  • Visualization and geometric modeling to solve problems
  • Inquiry in teaching science to elementary students

A FOCUS ON CONTENT & PEDAGOGY

This unique degree combines cutting-edge online learning technologies and dedicated, personable instructors. With a combined emphasis on content and pedagogical knowledge, you'll strengthen your math and science knowledge and learn techniques to use in the classroom.

This program also examines how children construct knowledge about physical and social worlds using the contributions of Piaget, information processing, and socio-cultural theories. As a student in this program, you'll examine how race, ethnicity, culture, economics, and other factors affect cognitive development and learning.
